The Karema Blake Group is a jazz fusion group composed of a lead jazz guitar, bassist, and drums. For now, we are a trio, but they plan to add keyboards at some point in time to make the group a quartet. You can sample their current demo at soundcloud.com/the-karema-blake-group and check us out on twitter - karema blake @karemablakeGRP , If you'd like to hire the band you can visit Gig Masters. We're located near Washington, DC in Fort Washington. The group has three demos that reach different aspects of the jazz diaspora. The first demo, Mixed Emotions, is a cute jazz compilation reminiscent of Bill Evans and his works. The jazz pieces are almost European, in a sense, and characterize Bill Evans' works like Waltz for Debbie and many more. The second demo, OK, is very Latin in nature. There's a Bossa Nova feel to the demo. Many of the songs have a South American beat. Also, there is a contemporary feel to some of the songs. One song is reminiscent of Betty Carter and her singing style. Although the songs are based on guitar . . .we can hear Betty on a few tracks. The last demo, WC, is reminiscent of Miles Davis and his collaborations with John McClaughlin. There's a very guitar fusion type of feel to the jazz on the 3rd disc that comes out like a McClaughlin recording. The compilation on soundcloud.com/the-karema-blake-group is composed of all three demos put together. Contact either their twitter or soundcloud for more information about the group - or the contact info on reverbnation at www.reverbnation.com/thekaremablakegroup also you can contact the Azur Records web site at http://billeklof4167.wix.com/azurrecords
