Hip Hop - Luap C

Luap C is a hip hop/neo-soul performer from the Washington, DC area. What makes him different from other performers are his neo-soul and alternative samples used to create Luap C's own sound. The neo-soul flavorings help make him unique and provide an artistic landscape for new hip hop concepts.Luap C became a rapper after Bill Conway left his roots, on bass guitar, with a popular alterntaive, college radio group. The group traveled through out the states and Europe and toured with some of the finest hip hop acts found on MTV and organized concert festivals. After realizing the potential rewards achieved through performing hip hop, Bill began producing a multitude of material that could be condensed for future projects and albums. Concepts he received while performing with the live tour group, helped mold Luap C or Bill, into the recordings heard today. A combination of hip hop, alternative and neo-soul are mixed together on Luap C's latest project - incuding instruments usually heard from live guitar acts. The alternative portion of his sound is tamed by Luap C's R&B roots - giving the latest album a soulful mixture of funk, jazz, and sampled rap .In an age where the most popular bass line was sampled and chopped into a familiar hip hop song . . . many jazz and R&B groups turn to digital art work. Luap C's sound is a combination of soulful R&B and neo-soul mixed with contemporary sampling and beat making. Instead of chopping up the latest jazz cut or single, Luap C uses contemporary, home grown samples - chopped from improvised midi guitar and piano work. His sound blends into familiar yet unique instrument tracks heard from underground hip hop. His recordings lay the ground work for Luap C's vocals and rapping, . . creating melodies for vocals commonly heard on an internet neo-soul radio station. Luap C defines his music as Neo-Soul -Acid Fusion . . .blending Acid Jazz Hip Hop into Neo-Soul vocalization . . .creating Hip Hop R&B and soulful jazz chordal and lyrical arrangements. Luap C plans to take his musical concept on the road - utilizing recently recorded digital beats and sampling with MIDI instruments and sequencers. . .A live band concept might be in the mix. Two bass guitars, a keyboardist and a DJ could be the blue print for future gigs or tours . . . .
